komodo. INDONESIA The Komodo National Park is located between The Indian Ocean and The Flores Sea, in the center of Indonesia. Komodo has been a national park since 1980, but its naming as one of the seven natural wonders of the world in 2011 is what really defines it. The only way to visit the island is to fly to one of the two port cities closest to the park: Bima or Lubuan Bajo. The blend between two oceans, the Pacific and the Indian, between the warmer waters of the north and the cooler waters of the south, generates a diversity of marine flora and fauna difficult to find elsewhere. More than a thousand types of fish and a great variety of pelagic species that swim through these waters make this park one of the most interesting marine reserves in the world.
